This was brought to my attention by my watchmaker as something he has not seen before, or maybe just something he just hasn't taken note of previously. The mainplate has cal Ω861 stamped twice on it.

The watch is a 145.022-68 and meets all the criteria so as to be called a Transitional

Definitely unusual, perhaps the sign of a genuine transitional :D;)

Has anyone seen this before or can explain why it is so?

Thanks in advance and best wishes for the coming new year..

Interesting, your movement has a later serial / movement number than mine, which is in a 145.014 case with 2750/67 stamped in the caseback (which means nothing to me). Whats a transitional? Very new to the intracies of Omega watches, the component useage seem as complicated as some special cars.
