Before I jump in too deep on this, wanted some forum expertise on this Omega Pie Pan.

Been looking for one as daily watch but haven't invested enough time to learn about the Pie Pan for the fake vs. real aspects. My focus has always been on the Moonwatch.

    What do you guys think?

... it is a Craiglist listing, not priced at the moment, but may end up being a snipe.

Will end up double checking with my local watchmaker before completing the purchase (if there ends up being one), but wanted to see if there are any red flags right away.

    Cheers,
    M

The pictures aren´t the best and my eyes aren´t what they used to be either, but it´s a clear redial to me.

Fails MOY and the case looks fake. I agree that the hands are too long too. Good luck with your search!

    Thanks. Much is appreciated.

Glad to have the forum help. Definitely something harder to find legitimately.

Maybe you should search in the FS part instead of Craigslist?

Fake dial, and possibly a fake case. I can't see the inside to be sure.

If it is a Ref. 14900-62 case, almost certainly fake.

I search various thing daily. We only have one legitimate vintage watch shop with a limited selection.

Craigslist is just a source or should I say lack there of for watches locally.

I tend to browse it to see if I can luck out on gem.

All serious pieces I'll find a legit shop haha :)

The hands on this one seem too short - I never knew that was possible? The "Constellation" script seems off to me...but it could be my eyes...zooming in seems to right things. It's these questions that have cooled my ardor for eBay, Catawiki. If I ever buy vintage again, it's going to be from OF. The rest of the world is a dangerous place!

This one is an outright fake.

They have even gone to the trouble of machining down the the rotor bridge and re-engraving it.

Personally I am making it my personal mission to try and post pictures and links with fake eBay auctions. The pictures of things like the machined rotor bridge are invaluable learnings tools.
