hi together, I’ve got an Don Bezel offer. On the first view it looks in good condition. But I’m confused with the „7“ but see here:

Does anyone can proof me the originality?

Why are you confused? There are two types of DON, early DON and later DON first 2998s variants after BASE1000 had version where the numbers on the left have their upper corner or edge cropped by the steel outer ring while the later ones have a slight gap and the numbers don't touch the outer ring

I’ve just seen bezels with numbers like this:
So for my 145.022-69 the „newer“ version would be wrong?! Isn’t it?

I don't know exactly when Omega altered the positioning, one could get an fair idea by looking at all the 1960s DON Speedys on sale and figuring it out by their dates, perhaps one of the experts on here would know? You also see skinny and fat digits, as if they have smudged/bled!

It would be helpful to see more photos, but most likely it's legit. Just unattractive.

Can we see the picture of the whole bezel? I would also ask the seller to send more photos showing the back and the side view in several angles when laying flat to make sure it doesn't bend.

I personally don't think there is any variation on the BASE 500 DON bezel, other than some minor variations in production quality, as is the case of the OP's bezel here. My $0.02.

This is a post from a previous thread.

I do not think this has been discussed before. Some bezels seem to have been produced with the printing and dots slightly off center. The result being, clipped numbers and dots. Usually this clipping is seen on the inner edge of the bezel. I can't find any examples right now. My question is, does anyone think this affects the value or desirability of the bezel?.

    To OP @Cipolla :

The bezel you posted is fine and authentic to my eyes.

Maybe if two bezels are otherwise absolutely perfect, then these printing imperfections might cause someone to prefer one over the other. In every other instance, I think not; condition is what defines the value of the DON bezels.

@Dan S, unattractive yes and no, it’s quite difficult to find a DON in a 1600€ range...
Invest now allready several hours in total ive found around 3. this one is the best comparison between price and shine.
In a few weeks I can post a search within the Omega Forum...

Obviously I didn't know the asking price at the time I made my post. I agree the price seems appropriate for the condition.

A problem is the Bezel size was increased from 38.6mm in earlier models, to 39.7mm with the 105.003 and there after (Omega AJTT). However, the smaller and larger versions will pretty much fit on any of these watches. Now you have a new problem of people swapping the wrong bezel to a different model and as well as the swapping of inserts from earlier bezel rings to later rings. This creates ill fitting inserts. People don't seem to care as long as they can get a DON bezel .
    Quite a mess.

According to MWO - "the external diameter is 38.6 mm for the steel bezel of the CK 2915 model and 39.7 mm for the black bezels fitted to subsequent models"

That differs though from what Omega says.
