Hey all, Let me preface this: I did a search and could not find any threads addressing this question. Thus, I ask out of sheer curiosity: other than the dot over ninety, do DON bezels differ structurally or visually in any other substantial/identifying way? Thank you, OF experts. Happy Sunday, Jeff
Yes the location of the dot at 70 can also be used (a DoN has a dot diagonal at 70). This also distinguishes between DNN bezels.
Awesome, thank you. In terms of the bezel structure, you could theoretically fit a modern Speedy bezel to a 145.012, or fit a DON bezel on a 3570.50?
Generally yes. @Archer has mentioned that modern bezels won't fit a small number of vintage cases, but on the whole they're interchangeable between Speedy Pros (including 2998's and Ed Whites).
The font on the tachymeter is different. Some bezels have serifs on the numbers. All in all from the DON and on there are easily at least 5 easily identifiable bezels. DON DNN 220 Modern Modern Serif
Bezel (silver part) is different. Based on experience, they do vary over the years, even same period correct bezel doesn't fit period correct case as manufacturing tolerances vary batch to batch. DON bezel insert should come w 60s bezel (silver part), they can be identified by a sharper edge as well as when seen from the back, the insert shouldn't be visible when mounted. These are just observations from the few speedy I own.
