In the immortal words of Hoi, "The hands are too long" well they are, they exceed the minute track completely just like on a dome dial. Seller admits to it being a refinished dial, but there's no real physical edge to the pie-pan facets, and the edges are round instead of flat, with the points on the edge covered by the dial furniture. So I'm wondering is this a dome dial that was refinished as a Pie-Pan to increase the value over its regular dome dial form? Its a no reserve $1 starting bid auction, so curious to see what it ends at. Its also 14K which is probably why the crown looks the wrong color: http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-ome...105023216?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3ccb1278f0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I've seen a few of these around where they ink the edges of the pie pan shape on a dome dial. Ruined a perfectly good watch.
