20 year wedding anniversary coming up. Full support when I wanted to go see F1 races - Montreal; Indianapolis; Monza; Spa maybe? One day.

When I battled cancer she took on the role of nurse, mother, and protector.

A couple of months ago, my first Rolex. She clicked on a few buttons on her laptop ... and voilà! The funds were there (she is a banker). Since the Rolex, I consider myself on a self imposed watch probation. Imagine my surprise today when she showed up with an old Bulova that she picked up at an auction.

Probation may be over... but I better wait a bit until I get that Speedy. For some of you, the support appears obvious, @Mad Dog makes mention of MacGyverette, then there is @janice&fred . How about you?

Ok, on to the watches... and the cat. She caught me secretly feeding it 6 years ago...

She wants me to make her a colorful strap, but I found this newish Longines Alligator specimen with original buckle. @JwRosenthal may drool, until he learns it is gold plated.

You’re a lucky man.....so is your wife, that cat is adorable 😉

It’s wonderful when one has a supportive partner. Even if both aren’t into the same things, appreciating the other’s zeal and learning to be with them in their experience is one of the keys to keeping a relationship healthy. When you resent the other for their interests, you might as well pack it up.

I am currently working on finding an early ladies Seawolf for my Lady- she thinks it would be fun to have his/hers models of some of my classics (she has a fabulous 1958 lady Seamaster with curved lugs that I would love to have the larger version to match)..... thank god they didn’t make a ladies sized Rolex GMT. 😲

I’m sure my wife would be supportive of my watch-collecting ways if I ever stop going to great lengths to conceal it from her.

Two great watches. Super nice Rolex 5513 from the 1970s and the Bulova has a classic 1940s case.

In regards to my wife's support, I offer you this quote from a previous post of mine,
"Remember to never try to explain your addiction to your significant other, they simply don't care, and/or don't understand, and besides they think you're nuts anyway."

Now about your wife, let me say this gracefully, does she have a sister? You are one lucky son of a b@t*h.

I agree, but, thankfully she doesn't resent me. When my wife met me she knew I was a watch collector and had a number of timepieces. I think I softened her up a bit when on our honeymoon in Europe I picked her up a Rolex Ladies Datejust. Over the years whenever she see a new watch on my wrist or on my desk... if it's a vintage timepiece,"Honey, I owned this before we were married.", which is usually the case considering today's prices, if it's new,"Honey, I sold one of my vintage pieces or other timepiece and bought this one." ditto.
So far its working...

My first Omega (70s Seamaster automatic) was a Xmas present from my wife so I guess she kickstarted the ‘addiction’ 😜. At some stage I’m looking at getting her a nice modern automatic Constellation (have had bad experiences with quartz watches). For now I found her a nice late 60s Geneve on a mesh bracelet, so in the meantime I can look at adding another to my box...😉

No issue with Mrs STANDY, has a few of her own.
Stops movies to see what watch.
Helps keep my watch stuff left laying around all together by continually putting it in a bowl on the coffee table. 👍👍 ( perfect because everything I am always looking for is in the bowl )

Went full WIS on a watch she wanted that was not made anymore. Hunted one out like anyone here would.

My wife supports my watch hobby but not the addictions. Full support when it was a once a year purchase thing. Usually towards end of the year around Christmas and my birthday.

Wow @Duracuir1 your wife has good taste, that Bulova is really nice and she knew to pick one with neat deco numerals and original dial ! 👍

Dibs on the Longines strap and buckle!
I have a gold Longines for which I’ve been looking for a better strap/ buckle.

Only when your wife gets that colorful strap she really wants, of course 😜

@JwRosenthal your wife’s little Seamaster is adorable!
Kudos on finding it.

My wife encouraged me to buy the Speedmaster Pro I always wanted, although I could sense her disappointment when I got it.

4.5K Euros for something that doesn’t have diamonds in it was hard to grasp for her I suppose 😁

I am certainly a very lucky boy, the love of my life has driven many purchases over the years and surprised me with several gifts.
Today I am wearing this Hamilton which was a surprise birthday gift a few weeks back,

My girlfriend - now wife - fully encouraged me to get my first Speedmaster. Since then, she saw dozens coming and going. She likes to pick one time to time and try to guess the period, spot the step or check the caseback.

She has a Speedy reduced automatic reverse panda that she wears time to time among other watches but doesn’t like wearing watches in summer. Didn’t see anything on her wrist for a while lately.

The cat doesn’t mess up with watches. She has better plans :
