Looks like a nice watch. The seconds hand isn't original, but this may be easily replaced if you want. Somehow, I don't think it will be so cheap when the last bid is placed.

    Good luck,

"A lot" is a relative term, so I'm not sure what you mean. It is a gold-capped case, with about 200 microns of gold. It should be as durable as the steel cases, so long as you don't polish them every day.

Some people just prefer solid steel, so these sell today for a very slight premium, all other things being equal.

    Hope this helps,

that De Ville looks more casual to me. I prefer that case over the gold cap as well. I never like that gold cap, and the watch hands don't really match the design.

Both are good, the cal. 562 is a little more modern. The most important thing is...condition, condition, condition.

that one is cool. has a screw on back plate, not a solid case. the second hand is correct. comes with a nice band and buckle. Only negative, the dial has been redone. I don't like the date on my watches, so that would of been an easy win for me. But I already have one.

    Nice.
ulackfocus didn't seem to think the dial has been refinished as it has a mark on it. The seller claims it's original and has a pretty good reputation as far as I can ascertain.

Dial just re-lumed, not sure if refinished. Hands also look re-lumed. Not a big deal. It's a one-piece case, note the groove in the back. If the back came off there would be a split there, not a groove.

I don't wish to be rude to anyone and I know we're talking of 40+ year old watches but if you guys with loads more experience than me can't agree I'm snookered!

I think there is just to many watches posted on here. You know that dial is probably okay. If you look at the center there is a chip in it. You can use this other Ebay listing I found to compare if you wish. It also might be a could offer price if you decided to go with that watch.

Opinions will always differ, from person to person. Generally no two people will think alike.

At the end of the day, you will have to make your own decision whether to buy or not, after weighing all the informed facts and figures, given by experts and enthusiasts in the respectable forum.

    Thank-you.

I don't think there has been a disagreement, just confusion about which watch was being discussed. Maybe the disagreement is about whether or not there has been a disagreement? This would be a whole lot less confusing if everyone could just agree with me.

There certainly will be differing opinions on originality, especially on the older watches.

BTW, I would have been fooled by a fake Constellation a few days ago.
