Does cal 354 only autowind in one direction?

I am asking because today I found the watch stopped. I keep it on a winder. It never happened before and recently I opened it to change the hands. I had to disassemble the rotor etc.
I opened it again and I noticed that it's clicking only when the rotor goes in one direction. It should make sense as there are no inversion wheels on this movement but just to be sure, clues?

Yes the rotor will only wind when it moves in one direction, the clicking sound is similar to reversing the crown. However winding will work regardless of the rotation direction on the winder.
It is important that the teeth on the rotor arm and the winding mechanism are in the right position when assembling. If it is off by one tooth it will loose efficiency. You can check this easily by making sure the rotor reaches the springs in both directions.

"winding will work regardless of the rotation direction on the winder" ... what does it mean? If I wind it manually it works only clockwise.
The rotor reaches the springs in both direction. I reassembled it I'll see what happens.

I meant that it doesn't matter if the winder moves clockwise on anti clockwise, the 354 will wind in both directions.

Sorry but I don't get it. What winder? The autowinder? It winds in a direction and not in the other here. While the manual wind winds only when turning the crown clockwise. So what is this winder that will wind in both directions?

The rotor (not really a rotor as this is a bumper model) winds in only ONE direction. The crown (for stem winding) likewise only winds in ONE direction. Clockwise.

I'm not sure that many folks would recommend keeping a bumper on a watch winder. There are a lot of discussions about this if you do a site search.

We mean the same thing.
You write that you keep the watch on a winder. I mean that the direction of the winder doesn’t matter (like a 7750), a watch with a bumper movement will wind both ways (even if the “rotor” will only wind in one direction). This was just clarification so you could rule out winder-direction-problems.
Hope you find the problem and get your watch running again!

Ok , that sounds good. I disassembled it again and noticed it was maybe one tooth off. I used this pic for ref and put it as in the picture.

Yeah I got it and was just going to tell you, I didn't understand you were talking about that winder.

Really? It's been on a winder for like 3 years now. I didn't notice any problem.
