Here in Canada they have dismantled the 2G cellphone networks, and almost everyone uses some sort of smart phone. I am equally guilty of this, although a number of years ago I went on a bit of a detox using a phone only phone. the 2G version of this phone no longer works here and I was wondering if elsewhere these are still useful.
Here in Azerbaijan they are still used and when I lived in Malawi very few people had smart phones. Internet was slow and expensive.
okay, if either of you (or anyone else in the OF community) can provide a good home for this Punkt phone, I am happy to send it along. I did try to donate it to one of the shelter organizations here but they would not take it based upon its low-tech-ness
Man, I didn't know that! I've got a low tech flip phone that I use when my in-laws come into town. Haven't used it in the last 2 years but it worked on the 2G networks. Sad to hear it's now a paperweight....
just dumped my Rogers extortion plan......even so, December 31 is coming. Hence trying to send it somewhere useful, otherwise, just to the recycler.
