Dear,

Does anyone recognize this vintage dress watch. I am curious about the reference number and the movement inside.

Thank you in advance!

Hello @Firsttime and welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, the dial on your watch was repainted at some point in its history. While repainting a dial was not uncommon back in the day, it does mean that your watch no longer looks like it did when it left the factory many years ago, and it also means that we cannot help you identify the watch based on that one picture.

Much of the information you are looking for is located on the inside of the back cover of your watch. If it is in your possession, find a watchmaker near you who is familiar with vintage watches, and ask them to open the watch for you. Then take some well-lit, sharply focused pictures of the numbers on the inside caseback and on the movement, and post them here.

Those numbers should provide the case reference, the caliber reference, and the serial number on the movement can be used to roughly date your watch. On some early watches, the case reference was not marked on the inside caseback, but with those extra pictures the knowledgeable forum members can often provide the missing details.
