What kind of watch is this and what's it worth? I've asked some other people but it's taking fairly long for them to answer. Hoping you guys have more expertise
It's a lady's watch. Can't tell you what it's worth or even if it's real from one mediocre picture, which is why it's "taking fairly long" for others to answer. Is it solid gold or gold plated? 14K or 18K? We have to see pictures of the inside (movement and caseback markings) to give you any idea because the value is greatly tied to the gold content.
Btw, if it helps.. a jewelry told me it's ''expensive gold'' (no idea what she meant with that) and worth about 16,000 Euros. She told me to take it to a jewelry who's specialized in these kind of watches.
16,000 Euros?????? Is that a typo? The watch is 18K so it's worth whatever the weight is in scrap gold: price of gold X .75 = value.
It wasn't a typo. Just saying what she told me. Oh well, I'll just take it to some other jewelries and see what they tell me. Thanks
I was just going to post something really sarcastic about what planet is the OP from, but then I realized it's a full moon this weekend which explains this shit. If that watch is worth €16,000 you should go back and tell the store you'll sell it to them for the bargain price of €13,000 and see what they say.
Why not wait a couple of months and go back to the same jewelry on April Fools Day...Who knows you might get lucky ;-)
Who knows? Btw, it's 22K. I just asked my father and he seems to remember things better. Women.. Anyway, he also said the jeweler mentioned €16,000. How odd..
Omega didn't use 22K, its far too soft to make a watch and especially a bracelet like that out of. It'll be 18K or 14K, probably worth under $1k USD based on its low gold weight. Even a Constellation Grand Luxe mens size on full bracelet, which is about the most valuable and commands the most premium of all solid gold Omegas from the 50s/60s is typically well under €16,000, the jeweller you saw is either delusional or skipped his medication I'm afraid.
I'm more and more starting to believe the latter, yeah. I'll try to consult some other (realistic) jewelers
