I sold this 37mm 26.5 some time ago and have thought about it often, in fact I could kick myself for selling it and need to find another.
Does anyone know the reference number for these?
    Thanks Mick

Wow, that was nice. Your best bet is Yann / Tire-comedon for an accurate answer.

So it is your fault for not buying it! You could have given me it back ;)

Another advantage of selling to trustworthy members of the forum - you have a better chance of getting your watch back if sellers remorse hits too hard ;)

Well, let's not be too hasty! I would though certainly have let you have some kind of scheduled, supervised visiting rights :D

    Hi,

That's a great and really unusual watch with an outstanding dial. I understand that you regret having sold it.

I have one of the same type from around 1939, but with a damaged+badly refinished dial. I never found the ref in the catalogs I have.
However it could be this model, which I found in a 1937 Italian catalog. It is a 26.5 Sob. The size and the reference number are not mentionned, but the distance between the center of the dial and the second hand pinion, seems equal to the distance between the second hand pinion and the case edge, which, for a 26.5, indicates a large case. But the bezel seems wider than on your and my watch, so I would not be affirmative.

Sorry for not being able to help you. I should have the dial refinished and ask for an archive extract, for sure. I would then be able to post a picture and give a reference. One day, maybe....

Maybe you still remember this one, Mick.

    37mm?? That's a lot of stuffing. I have a 26.5 and it's only 30mm.

    Absolutely beautiful.

Yes I remember this one very well, I was only thinking about it last week while I was re-silvering a Elliott RAF clock dial, The finish just reminded me of this watch dial. I have still haven't seen another quite like it, have you?
    Thanks Mick
