I’m writing about some Constellation 2000 models which is mostly done, but Its driving me nuts trying to ignore out what the Buccaneer in pirate script actually means on these watches. Very few of them have the Buccaneer engraving but there seams so little knowledge around about them. It’s clearly not the Tampa Bay team nor any other I can find, and searching logos I can find some that are similar but no direct matches. Does anyone have an idea what it could be?

Here’s what the watches look like:

And here’s all I’ve been able to locate…

Probably some brand that's been washed away by time

I assume you found this thread:https://orologi.forumfree.it/?t=53115357&st=15

I had contact by mail with Mr. Christoph Büttiker of the Omega museum archive and he told me that the watch was a limited series and for this reason they are not easily found.
He doesn't know anything about the writing "Buccaneer" so it's a pure customization that has nothing official.

I did yea, I’m assuming it’s similar to the US Steel and Cheverolet ones where its a company that ordered a bunch to commemorate something, just trying to piece together what that company could be because I don’t like mysteries.

I lived on St. Croix for a while, Buccaneer is a beach and golf resort that hosts many tournaments and celebs including, for many years POTUS.

Maybe a connection ?

I found this from Desmond, though I know it doesn’t explicitly answer your question
https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-buccaneer-need-help.15383/

It looks like a calibre 711 Omega Constellation 2000. Some of these models did have the Buccaneer etching (which is quite uncommon). It was also known generally as the Buccaneer and should have the model number 355.0814 stamped on the inner case back.

These are not a large watch, but guys who like to wear bracelets often like them. Various dials, some more ornate than others, and there were two basic 2000 models, the above and the 355.0815. Neither were certified chonometers. Very mid-seventies design. Might be a sleeper for a while.

Cheers

Desmond

Hard to top Dennis:

"That watch was made for corn farmers that ran roadside stands.

customer: 'Hey, how much is the corn?'

farmer: 'It's a buccaneer.'"

Try this one.

Woman opens the door on Halloween and finds a little guy dressed up as a pirate.

She saye, “Oh, you’re a pirate. And where are your buccaneers?”

Little guy thinks for a few seconds, and then: “They’re under my buccan hat.”

Ha ha, I grew up in Sierra Madre, the Buccaneer Lounge, been there forever, fondly referred to simply as the Buc by locals.
