Does anyone have an Omega Constellation 2852 with a honeycomb dial and arrow/crosshair indices like this?

Hi everyone,

I recently inherited this watch from my father, who told me he bought it decades ago somewhere in the Middle East. Now that it's been passed down to me, I've been trying to research it - but I can't seem to find another example that looks quite like mine.

I did take it to a watch shop to have it checked out. The technician told me it was "too old to find reference" - which, honestly, I couldn't help reading as a polite way of saying it might be a fake. But I'm genuinely not sure, and I don't want to jump to conclusions about something with this much sentimental value.

So I figured I'd ask here: has anyone seen an Omega Constellation 2852 with this exact dial/case configuration? Any insight into whether this variant exists - or whether I should be concerned - would be really appreciated.

Thanks so much in advance!

Additional details in case the photos aren't very clear

- Dial:Honeycomb texture with arrow/crosshair hour indices

- Case back:Engraved "2852 - 2 SC"

The dial appears to be repainted. And the case and movement are very different than my 2852.

Is it possibly a 2652, and you are mis-reading the caseback?

Hmm, that's possible.
I tried Googling 2652 movement and it looks very similar. Thanks!

yes, most likely a 2652 from around 1955.
Unfortunately the dial has been repainted - which hurts the value but a great keepsake all the same as only us watch-geeks would know the script isn't the original style

That case actually looks like it might be a fake one.

The OP's observatory looks like it drank too much! very wonky to my eyes. Also, the caseback uses a screwed ring. Here's a picture picked off the internet for comparison.

@Deafboy Mine looks just like that one. The OPs watch case does look fake, observatory is not crisp, the bezel doesn't have a bevel either and the crown has too much of a recess. Just my 2 cents.

In addition to the other issues, the movement is not a chronometer. Or at least the rotor is incorrect.

Not only is it not a chronometer it should be a rotor self wind not a bumper. These 2852s should have a Cal. 501 chronometer in them!

I don’t think the 2852 ever had a screw-down case back like OP’s watch has. This is an earlier 2652, and a bumper movement would be correct for these. IMO this one has just had a LOT of work done on it, and very heavy polishing on the case which makes it look wonky.
