    Here are four DO90's
It is my opinion the bottom one is the best I have seen - the others are some ugly sisters.

    1-P1260003-001.jpg

I can tell you I bought the good one from Watchco, for $2250 and many told me I was crazy to pay that much. One thing for sure, I have not found a watch to put it on that is the same quality!

The really interesting question is what people think the others are worth.

@ulackfocus If you think it was bad when there were too many speedy threads, now look all we need is a DO90!

    (I am not selling, obviously).
My point is to ask do we see it as a curve or a straight line pricing?

Is there a point (condition wise) where they are no longer worth putting on a watch? My 67 has a heavily damaged bezel, I think it detracts from the look, others may say it's original and has character. I don't think it really has much value.

I think the value is very much in the eye of the beholder, impossible to do straight line pricing.

Totally agree there is no straight pricing with these bezels. I mean a good one is always going for top money, but TBH those two on the right look pretty knackered to me, I wouldn't want them on any of my watches, and maybe more importantly I wouldn't want a watch where the condition of it complemented or matched one of those beat up bezels.

These days one only has to say DO90 and some tremble at the knees, but for those two on the right I'd need a watch missing a bezel to consider them worthy of purchase.

But the question was what could you sell them for, I'll guess 4K, 1.7K, then maybe 3-400 each for the road kill :D

In some very rare cases I find nicely faded bezels even more attractive than one in a pristine condition. So the dependency price-condition is definitely not linear for me. In this view I value the 4th one higher than the 3rd one

I'm not really qualified to speculate on prices for those bezels, but I can say that I really don't like bezels that have a large flat spot on the outer ring. I don't mind the dings and scratches, and ghosting is definitely ok by me. In the examples given, I'd value the top 2 higher than the 2nd from bottom, because that one has such a large flat spot around 7 oclock position. That's just me though

In my opinion, there is definitely a point at which they aren't worthy of being put on any watch as they detract from the overall appearance. That point is something that will be unique to each owner. I would much rather have an attractive newer bezel than a poor original. Yes, "poor" is the operative, subjective word.

It may just be me but the faded bezel combined with the white lume on the dial lends yours a ghostly-cool look. I think a pristine DON would actually detract from this one

The bottom one is nice but the 2 top one I dont really like as they are too far gone imo.

I maybe biased as I have these 4 spares

If it matches the rest of the watch, then it justifies. A pristine DON needs to be put on a pristine watch.

I sold this last summer for over £400.... I was going to bin it! As long as there is the slightest sign of it being a don, someone will buy it i.m.o. Especially now.

    Flame proof suit? check....

I'm sorry to say but I think you have to be crazy to put a piece of junk such as the above on a Speedmaster. Let alone pay the insane money asked for one. DON or no DON...

    Fire away!!:D

To don, or not to don, that is the $4k question!
