It is always interesting on these generics, how some names are more satisfying than others, even though the movements are the same.

Ironically many people (including my dad) think Rolex uses generic swiss parts made in china. Or that a swiss movement is a type of watch that can be made anywhere.

Perhaps some day I will find a marvin dial or case in a job lot of watch parts ...

So I picked this up yesterday at a watch fair in the UK. A lovely 14kt yellow and rose gold chronograph with articulated lugs and a glossy black multi-scale dial. Coming in at around 36mm it's a good size on the wrist. According to the watchmaker/seller it has a Venus movement and I'm guessing the watch is from the 1940s or so.
