Do these no. 6 end-links look legit to you?

I ran this by @dsio (Ash), and we are both concerned about the legitimacy of a few sets of no. 6 end-links that have come onto the market.

As noted below, all three sets have a horizontal line going through the 6 on the back of the end-link. While it’s not impossible that these are a variant, neither of us have this same line going through any of our no. 6 sets. Thus, it would be great to have others weigh in on whether they have seen this particular nuance on their own no. 6 end-links:

All look ok to me. The second pair at first glance gave me some conccern but I think it’s picture quality.

So the identical tooling marks with the line through the 6, and that indent in the upper right of the 6 is something you guys have seen before on watches? I’ve never noticed that in a set previously.

the left side of the endlink also indicates the same curved tooling mark on both end pieces, very interesting

Yea I’m more wondering if anyone has seen them on endlinks that were not recently purchased but were long term owned on an original watch

I'll check mine but am pretty sure that I haven't seen this before.

Thanks for bringing this up, I was wondering the same. I don’t have any helpful ownership experience - the ones I have don’t have the line - but I have, for a few years, been saving images whenever I saw an example that was likely from the first owner to have comparisons. Just went through them and didn’t find a single one with those lines.

Not saying they’re not legit, but at least it doesn’t seem to be a particularly common occurrence.

Maybe @Spacefruit @ndgal @Aludic know more?

I’d also mention that all of my number 6 endlinks have had differing degrees of battle damage and marks and scratches, they’re not the most durable thing to begin with and are easily bent and damaged. These ones with the line through them and the circle shaped dent to the upper right seem to all be in very good condition, and available for sale.

On these, you can see some marks that look to be made over time but the overall look is like new. So either its an old and legit part that has seen polish wheel and and gums to refresh it, or it's a (solid) repro made to look like it has had a (longer) life.

They seem to all have this little nick out of one edge also, so dent + line + nick, very fishy indeed

Hi there, looks like you're talking about the sets I'm selling here.

I bought them to a local watchmaker, who had an old stock. It do think they're good (or I wouldn't put them FS of course).
I had a discussion to several collectors on OF and they all said that it's legit. Some of them bought some too.

I'll be happy to show them if someone comes around!

I would be curious if perhaps the watchmaker you bought them from attempted to re-shape, or modify them in some way, to account for the uncommon features?

I think it would be very hard to reproduce the unique characteristics of the ‘6’ so accurately, so I lean toward genuine. Maybe they were seconds?

The fact that they all have these same defects makes them very fishy to me. I wouldn't expect Omega to let this kind of thing go, or sell "seconds"...
