As fitted to post 145.022-69/DO90 bezels through the production 1969 and early 1970's

i am a little unsure of some finer differences in this type of bezel. There appears to be some variation, and in order to establish what is right and correct can I ask members to post bezel/watch pictures of these bezels, and any interesting history that might help establish the believed originality? To be clear I am looking at late 145.022-69's, and -71, -74, -76 and -78.

Here is what I am hoping to establish:

Are all the bezels the same, or is there a variation in font, or layout, that has until now not been noticed or cared about?
Could there have been more than one supplier to Omega for these bezels?
    What colours to they turn?

Also a good excuse for us all to have a really good look at a speedmaster that has been until now a little neglected.

I myself am away from the watch cave but will contribute more photos next week.

Four 1970's Speedmasters, three with DN90 bezels, the third from the left being a small TACHYMETRE letters from a later period, and thus incorrect for the watch.

In the meantime let's see those bezels and learn? The more photos we can have, the more data the easier to get to the bottom of this.

Looks like MWO has already documented these well enough. What you have here is three B2 bezels from 1970-1990, and one modern B6 from 2004.

The black bezel you have in the other thread is B3 from 1990 to 1995. It is not correct for your watch and out of your period of interest.

image.jpeg Here's a 145.022.69 with serial 30,593,xxx. As best as I can tell, it was produced summer to fall 1970.

These are what I have, all from the same source in Aus.

Edit. The middle 2 were removed from vintage Speedmasters

here's on I thought was from the 70's period, but it doesn't have the serif on the 7. so I guess this is a B3.

I've got a couple others, but no pics handy, and out of town. will post more later.

    It's B4, same period as B3.

This is the bezel on a 145.022-69ST straight writing produced in 1971. Also shown is extract of archive with more info for you.

I believe everything on the watch is original. It is in almost NOS condition and the hands, pushers and crown appear to be original and the case is unpolished. Therefore, have no reason to believe the bezel is a later service replacement since it is also the correct version for the reference and the date of production.

I bought it at auction in Germany where it was delivered so I think this is an example of a one owner watch that was hardly ever worn.

Here's the DN90 bezel that came on my 2915. I believe it's from the 70s as the hands, bezel and dial were probably exchanged by Omega during a service in that period.

So have you found correct hands and a bezel for it?? Also, is that an A6 or A7 dial?

Thanks, and oddly when I bought the watch a few years back I didnt even notice the 220 bezel.

It was at a time just before the '69s had started to take off as they have now. I got totally lucky with this watch, bought for a very good price and in great condition. Has recently had a full service from Al at Archer watches so its running great too

That's a negative. I've put modern broad arrow hands and bezel on it.

Not sure about the dial model from Moonwatchonly, would have to consult and compare. I do know it's one of the pre professional tritium dials with applied metal logo

Ok, probably the only thing you can really do at this point. Looks like one of those two dials to me, from mid 60's time frame. Any pics of how it looks today?

Sure do. Here it is. IMO now it looks like the 1957 replica model.
