Hello fellow members,

Just wanted to share with you my little DIY project.

I'm not sure where the idea was seen, maybe even on this forum or somewhere else but is very simple. All you need is a piece of leather and picture frame. 5 minutes later and voila!

Well if she eventually recognizes it you will be in big troubles hahahah😗 , I would sugest some kind of bribery in case she does. Nice watch tray though !!

I’d love to make one too, but if I may contribute advice, I’d suggest avoiding taking one of your wife’s handbags without her permission.
The old ones that sit in the closet are often the ones which have been the most loved and worn— just a word of warning for you @Zapatta I think you’re in trouble.

Most leather craft stores have a remnant section where you can find that perfect colour and size of leather.

Ok guys, just texted her beacuse you are making me feel guilty.. good neeeews! She said she doesn't care because it was over 20 years old and looked worn, so she really likes what I did with tray so now wants one for her jewellery. Win - win situation!

Nice! Out of curiosity, what is the back of this project? Typical frame backing or otherwise?

Just removed glass and put piece of leather on existing cardboard and pressed it inside and cut off remaining leather. It fits perfectly! I'll take photos of the back when I come home.
