i donno if i misread - but I have a pristine 14060 and see absolutely NO reason why it should not pass a waterproof test ...

so for anything sapphire glassed (thats what 1980ies and up?) you should have a good chance to get it going ... obv. condition trumps this rule, but there you go ...
I agree if you have looked at Archer's response. If you know the service history swim away. I have a friend who has not serviced his sub in 19 years. When I told him that is way overdo he stared at me like I had three
Heads then told me he'll pass it to his kids. I'd say there is a lot of vintage out there in that condition.

I got the same watch lately (2 liner) - and agree - its a great-great do-it-all watch - tough as nails ... best part is that it is really not too big, esp. not too high compared to what you find today ... no prob's with cuffs .... so probably the best all round watch
I have a 14060M since 2008 and its such a keeper although people have been tempting me with offer price higher than my purchase price. Imagine enjoying a watch over 8 years with no costs and a slight profit?? That's Rolex for you.

I have a 2006, been swimming with it and still keeps +.5 sec / day.
