Hello! Did select 1980s explorer II ref 1655 come with a date wheel with rounded 3s and open 6 &9s? I’ve read this kind of date wheel was found on the gmt but wanted to see what others have seen on 1655s and if this is original or not. Thanks!

Yes, totally acceptable. Just go to HQ Milton and search on 1655's, you'll see plenty of examples with that date wheel, mine has them as well.

    Thanks for the response!

Does anyone happen to know when the rounded 3s date wheel was introduced on the 1655?

Mk2 dial 1655? Very nice! Does yours also have a rounded 3s date wheel?

My date wheel is silver with open 6 and 9 and flat 3 date wheel. My watch dates to 1973, yours is later and it’s ok to have rounded 3 with open 6 and 9.

    Mine is Mk5 ~1980-81

    Rounded 3's, open 6 & 9. I'm not 100% sure but I think I've seen discs with open 6 & 9's but closed 26 and 29.
