We should probably have a special thread for these pics - so the hoplophobes can avoid it.
There is a large overlap with car, watch, and firearm enthusiasts - every forum for one has sections for the other. Must be the Y chromosome...

don't recall having seen weapons sections on say - german or dutch watchfora ...

having said that ... I do not object it, its often quite educative (for the rest of the world 馃槤)

Like the " before using gun" advice on the actual gun.

That was always something you could do with Ruger firearm, read them if you didn't have a good book!

I will post this one. S&W .357 "Highway Patrolman".

OOOooo... Pvt-Public! I can relate to this one. In nice condition too. N-Frame Smith & Wesson guns are my favorite way to do the .357 Magnum cartridge, even over the vaunted Colt Python.

Your Model 28 looks to pre-date about 1967 with its walnut stocks having the diamond pattern around the escutcheon screw. Still so serviceable and collectible to boot.

Over here in The Netherlands, firearms are illegal. One could argue all day long about whether or not that's a good idea (please don't though, I won't either 馃槈) but in any case it means I'll never get to own one and I have to admit that makes me a bit envious 馃槖

I did find however that there's one exception here for firearms created before 1870 (don't ask...). You guys seem knowledgeable - do you know of any particularly interesting or historically significant firearm from before then?

Sorry no carry permit yet. My daily carry looks much different. Besides that P226 in full stainless steel does not lend to carry. I have other choices for that. In my state open carry is not allowed. Concealed carry by permit only, not that easy as you always get the run around from either the AG or police chief. Will be applying for my permit in May (just happen to have some more time than). Than will probably have to look to what I want to carry, 1911 perhaps, officers model? Guess we shall see.

Would seem the prohibition of ownership of firearms manufactured after 1870 bans ownership of arms taking the more effective self-contained metallic cartridges, for the rim fire cartridge was only in its infancy at that time and the center fire cartridge was not much more than a design on the drawing board.

I would love to collect working examples of firearms from all eras. You would be free to collect examples of the most advanced percussion designs from the 1860s, historically significant designs which played a part in turbulent world events of the age. Military arms of one's own country are appealing. The military arms of the Netherlands to 1870 would make an exceedingly interesting collection.

@dougiedude - Is the anodized aluminum trigger stock?
Apparently on mine it was, but I can't find it on their website. It might be a very recent upgrade/option.

I vascillated briefly, as to whether I preferred it. Same price as with the solid 'black'.

"The Ruger LCP Custom is instantly recognizable by its bright red trigger, polished blued slide and new sights. All three features greatly improve the .380 ACP semi-auto for a mere $30 more than the standard LCP. - "

Is that from a review?

Mine has those features, but I think it was the same price as the non-custom they had.

...me thinks I got a deal!! ::psy::
