Did Omega ever make hands like this?

I'm guessing these are aftermarket hands right? This watch was going really cheap and the movement was in outstanding condition so I was thinking of getting it just for the 420 movement if nothing else.

The hour hand looks like the tip is broken off, I can't see the minute hand in your photo because of glare or a scratched crystal. The sweep hand does not appear to be an Omega hand.

The color of the hands does not appear to match the color of the markers.

Cheers Dan, appreciate the info as always. Thinking this might be a nice first project omega, 420 movement's looking to be a great shape, with the dust cap and everything intact. Advertised as original crown but not sure of that.

The crown might be original. Just an FYI, the cal 420 is a small movement, so this is likely a pretty small watch.

Yeah I believe it's listed as 33mm so definitely on the smaller side. Think finding a set of replacement hands for this older model would be an issue?

I think they could be Omega leaf hands that were cut to size with nail clippers, seconds hand doesn't look Ω to me. The crown looks to be original "bowler hat" style.

Very interesting indeed, wasn't aware of the leaf hands, it does look like that very well might be the case. Any ideas if the Arabic numerals on the second track are usual? I can't seem to find another with that configuration.

Use the reference number on the inside caseback and do a search that way for the hand style, but I’m thinking dauphin styled . Also nd not sure, but missing case clamps for the movement?

Unless the dust cap allows the back to hold the movement in place

Ref no is 2690-1SC, did do a search, mostly the dauphine style seems to pop up, although I haven't found an exact match in terms of dial and everything

Did a little search up, seems very plausible that it's the dust cover that holds it in place, but I can't be sure.

May not find every dial. Lot of variations in a series. If the movement in the case is tight and doesn't move around. Back is holding it in place

Dauphine hands would make sense with those pointed/triangular markers. Just make sure you get the right color. Looks like yellow gold in the photos. Match the hole size to the movement specs, and the lengths to the dial layout. Typically the minute hand extends to the outer edge of the applied markers, and the hour hand ends just inside the markers. The current sweep hand is an ok length, but not the right shape for an Omega sweep hand; it should be a gradually tapering wedge.
