·Now that my mission is finally accomplished I can state my reasons !
The UG came on a nasty, ratty, tired, and worthless strap, but it was a strap I really really wanted due to its close relation with the straps that the first Fifty Fathoms came on. Here it is in all its glory !
And here are an original Blancpain advert and a TR900 on its original strap.
The astute may notice that the FF strap has 11 ribs vs. 10 for the UG one, and also likely the original strap is a one piece pull through, but beggars can’t be choosers. I was just hoping to save the strap from the bin, which is probably where it ended up.
Anyway fast forward to now and I just landed a NOS example of the UG strap.
Super stoked…
