Bought on eBay. A search of the serial number on the movement comes up as 1944. The fact it has no Omega symbol on the dial has me concerned. Any input? See pics below

I think some pictures will help here. "Redial" it's the best option..worse will be to have a "Franken" watch.

Lazy redial, didn't even bother with the logo. Not unattractive but not an original look.

One suggestion for the OP, actually look at a few known original Omega watches here on this Forum. Any reference. Note the beauty/elegance of each.

So, yours looks like this?

Beginners advice:

The reference number 2478 inside the case back should be entered into a search engine and then compare known originals to the one you are looking to buy. Train your eye to known originals as you seek cool watches.

We all started where you are at, just enjoy the journey.

Great information in this Forum

And, I guess it all depends on what you seek. That is a cool looking watch.

This is a Collectors Forum, so generally collectors want "original".....as in, How the watch left the factory.

Did the seller disclose that the watch has a refinished dial? If not, and you want to return it, you have a good case for a return/refund. eBay typically sides with the buyer when there is a legitimate dispute and the seller has failed to disclose a material fact in the listing. In such cases, it doesn't matter if the seller specified "no returns" in the listing. If you're not happy, open a dispute.

Just to add to this, you want to select "not as described" from the drop-down list when you submit a return request, assuming the seller did not disclose the redial in the description. It will first go to the seller to respond. Most likely he will say no in caps, but after a number of days, you will have a chance to escalate it to eBay.
