I've seen many Speedies from the 60's with dials that could almost be brand new other than the condition of the lume, but virtually all the images of vintage seamasters and connies seem to have dials that really show their age (which I totally understand is part of the allure for many).

Just kind of curious, is there some major reason why the non-Speedy dials don't seem to age as well?

Speedmasters are all screwbacks as a starting point while many Constellations, Seamasters and others are snapback and leakier as a result. Speedmasters also don't have the cellulose lacquer on the dial that Constellations and Seamasters have, and are not painted in the same way.

I think the Speedmaster dials show less age because they are black in color ( at least all the 60's professionals are). The dials age but to a pleasant brown and grey. Other types of Omega's feature lighter dials which show more age and patina.
