I was just giving hexadecimal approximations of the dial color - a bit of cheek, I'm afraid. Lovely looking color, FWIW.

Full disclosure: I have no real clue about this watch, but I've been known to rock a google query or two.

Google image search for 'rolex oyster date 1501 1973' shows me that champagne colored dials have dark text. Yours has white, the image you shared sure looks champagne, but could be a lighting effect. So maybe yours is actually a gray dial similar to this, which looks to be photographed with rather flat lighting:

And here's another from the same image search, different lighting:

Feeling pretty confident I haven't actually helped at all. ;) But I can't find any examples via image search that shows a champagne dial with white text, so does that mean anything - maybe?

Well I think I found the dial color on a 1600 DJ when image searching '1973 rolex 1501 sigma' per the suggestion from @TTG but I can't find it on a 1501. I'm just brute-forcing this via google for shnicks and grins... What does the seller say, or have you inquired?

Did a bit of searching last night on this "Sigma dial" Seems it is staring that on this dial the markers and hands are white gold. Thanks again for all the information.
Now not this piece specific, But what do you all think about the early 70's 1501 with the Caliber 1570 movement?
