I recently picked up my first Speemaster and subsequently decided I'd like to go with a deployment strap. I've seen quite a few threads on OEM alternatives. I figured I'd share what I ended up with. I sprung for the OEM clasp as I wanted the high quality precision part. I have to say it is pricey but very well made and works like a dream. However, I decided to initially go non OEM for the strap. After a fair amount of hunting I got the Dassari Aston. I went with black strap with white stitches. After it arrived I decided the white wasn't working for me as it was a very "thin" bright white thread. So....I took the sharpie to it. The strap itself is a bit too thin at the lugs for my taste - I think a bit more padding and it would have been just right. That much said, for $29 it was an excellent value. I'll likely get an OEM strap down the line but for those looking for an affordable solution here is one that might work for you.
I am thinking of a similar purchase and would appreciate it if you could show a picture of the clasp and part number on clasp please? As there seems to be a few different 18mm ones
That is what I thought but I see references everywhere for "deployment" even on company web sites. For example: https://www.hirschstraps.com/collections/deployment-hirsch-watch-straps Same thing with Strapsco:https://strapsco.com/product/deployment-clasp-for-omega/ Guess I should have gone with my gut
Not cheap but very high quality. You can also get aftermarket clasps but I am not sure of the quality. I think people like the Hirsch: https://www.hirschstraps.com/collections/deployment-hirsch-watch-straps
My Speedmaster ‘57 came with a bracelet but my wife also bought me the Omega clasp and the Omega tan strap from an AD. They were £160 each so £320 for the pair.
