I was at the OB yesterday. They said they will have 3 editions. One super limited, one semi limited, one available in large volumes, ie anyone who wants one can get one.

True or false, that makes a lot of sense to me. It's unimaginable that Omega would seriously limit one of the most desirable anniversary watches ever made.

Only three editions?? Seriously Omega... I am shocked. They launched 5 alone to celebrate that the 2020 Omympics are freckin’ two years away. I had expected at least 7 limited editions for the moon landing 50th birthday :taunt:

I dunno, the XI-45 and the skeleton Apollo XIII are both 1861 (or a materials derivative thereof in the case of the latter) and they’re going in some interesting directions. I think we’ll see some very interesting materials for the main LE line, plus maybe a platinum skeleton and a gold version

If an 8000 series movement with a chronograph addition can be put into a case of around the same thickness as we're used to seeing in a manual, otherwise era-correct SP, it could be amazing. Those looks with that accuracy...mmmm

A modular movement based on the 8806? Using a Dubois Depraz module like the Reduced you mean? Not an idea I see Omega trying any time soon, there are issues aplenty with compound movements and Lemania based manual wind Moonwatches always sold best. The Reduced isn’t universally popular after all.

Omega marketed an auto chronometer graded Speedmaster in a case the same size and shape as the 145.022 for years and they haven’t sold all that well. Take a look at the 33X3 Broad Arrow models, loveley to wear but haven’t exactly set the auction world alight. There have also been Chronometer graded manual wind Speedmasters too.

Interesting news! I will walk by the OB in FFM later and see if they have more info. I doubt it. Sadly I don't have 5k to make a deposit.

I'd hope for a Gold LE, 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing, it's about time for a true successor of the BA 145.022-69.

When I was there a week ago, they didn't know anything about 50th MLA LEs.... curious to hear what they have to say now

The big question for me will be delivery times, particularly for people who have given healthy deposits. I have yet to see an Apollo 8 at an AD.
