What about the other side of the watch where the serial should be stamped? The opposite side where 7016 is stamped (between the lugs). If the seller conveniently left that pic out because it’s blank, I think you have the answer to your question.

I left that on purpose but serial number shows a correct year of production.

Serial number is not engraved in the caseback, but if you are referring to the date in the caseback, then If the watch is a bit later than 1972 , then caseback will not be dated .

The serial in between the lugs indicates it is from 1974. Does it mean that the inner caseback is correct, in that it does not have both date or case reference number?

Every other 7016 from ‘74 or ‘75 that I’ve seen seemed to have a T Swiss T dial. I had thought some of the earlier versions/serials had dials like yours but if you have a late serial number perhaps it’s not the original case.
