    Fellows,

I have started to consider the Deepsea as I seem to be attracted by the technical engineering that is going into this piece... and especially love the D-blue dial, besides the Rolex overall quality.
I am obviously not thinking about making this a watch to be worn in a professional setting (unless my shirt's cuff will be loose! ;) ), but I wanted to hear thoughts from current or past owners. Especially a 116660 vs. 126660 comparison would be welcome.
Thank you in advance for sharing...

PS: yes, I am aware of the new Ultra Deep from Omega and will look forward to seeing what "regular production" model Omega will bring out as a result. ::popcorn::

I have recently picked up the 126660 and for me the changes make the watch much more wearable. Shorter lug to lug, 22mm bracelet and 18mm clasp provide much better balance on the wrist compared to the previous model.

I have a 7.5 inch wrist and it sits really well. I have a link and a half link removed and use the external glide clasp to regulate fit and comfort. It sits like a scaled up 16610 and you can actually forget you are wearing it. The side profile is a bit chunky to say the least but face on it all looks nicely centred and balanced.

Looks amazing with Tee shirt and jeans, subtle it ain't though!!

I had a 116660 and sold it because the bracelet was out of proportion with the head (too small and the head flopped all over as a result). Just looked stupid, IMHO. I have not seen a new 126660, but if it is as @petay993 describes, it is now on my list again.

The blue dial with green text is mavalous. And it ain't small which is why I liked it. Won't be mistaken for a common sub.

i have the 116660 and compared to my sub it's huge, but when compared to my Panerai submersible 44 it's ok. Between the 3 i prefer the Rolex sub though it's easiest to match with anything. I don't have the 126660 yet but i think i am going to stay within the 40mm on Rolex since i only wear them with the bracelet, where Omega and Penny I do with regular straps.

    It's big, but not huge.

My G-Shock made it look small:

I think the perfect Rolex diver is the 126600. At least for my 7.5" wrist. Small enough to fit under a sleeve, bigger than a sub.

That pic is very helpful as I also have a BLNR. Great side by side comparison. Thank you for posting!!

I just bought a 126660 on the grey market a month or so ago. The proportions are better than the previous 116660, so I would definitely choose the newer model. I actually had the divers adjustment removed and it fits perfectly with just a little taken in on the glide clasp. I also had one of the links moved to the opposite side to balance the braceIet out. I have an almost 8 inch wrist, so you could consider that option as well. No need for the divers adjustment if you're not going to wear it over a wetsuit, which I certainly am not planning to do.

Please post wrist shots! I loved my old D Blue but the small bracelet looked goofy to me and I could never unsee it. I would love to get my hands on a 126660 and see what's what.

The blue one is great, the newer a little bit better. Choose which you like more, you can not be wrong.

It's not a big watch looking from above but from the side...
I tried to love it but in the process forgot why I need it.
Too much BS written on the dial.
    Very legible though.

It’s not so much that it’s big, it’s very thick and feels odd. That said it’s a beautiful watch. I personally prefer the black dial, but the J.C is amazing as well, the gradient is amazing.

    I LOVE the DSSD
I have had a few since they came out.
The 126660 is a game changer, really made the watch sit and wear better!
It is not a watch for a one watch guy or a watch for someone to wear for business that wears suits and ties daily as its a tall watch but its a fun watch to have in the rotation if you can justify it.
The 126600 is one to check out as well! I would get it over a 126660 myself if I could only have one of the two, its just more comfortable and practical

I'm not a fan of the DSSD if I was looking at a Rolex purchase either the blue or grey dial YM would be my pick.

Agree with you, the Sea Dweller 126600 is a very comfortable watch, and could be a one watch kinda deal (my brother has it), but I am just smitten by the gradient dial on the James Cameron... and the technical feat achieved by it. Waiting for the AD’s call....

I got my 116660 back in 2008. Since then it saw and will keep on seeing a lot of wrist time. And my wrist is 6.5. Which I believe says a lot. Awesome watch I should say! You won’t regret it with the choice you made.

I have the 116660 and think it's a little too big for my 7.15" wrist, I'd like to trade it for a 43mm Sea Dweller. Check it out compared to a Speedy.
