I have the black dial version of this. Although it doesn't have the same cult following as its big brother, I personally prefer the dial on this one. A bit too disco for many, however, and the military link is less than with the 300. Still, I love this slightly unappreciated model
Oh, I know what disco is - I just can't figure out how that dive watch could be construed as 'disco'.
I know you were King of New Jersey Disco clubs......... don't you think the dial and markers has similarity with disco ball design on it?
The black dial version is the same design. Perhaps he's referring to the dark blue color of the dial and bezel insert. It's so dark that it's only recognizable as blue in certain light. Hence the name "Deep Blue."
Oh, I believe he's referring to Deep Blue in comparison to the SM300. And I agree completely with the sentiment.
Indeed. The simplicity of the 300 is obvious when compared to this dial. Some see this one as overladen and poppy. For me, it works and smiles at me. And many don't realize that it's slightly larger than the 300, though I think it wears smaller.
