Got a Seamaster blue which I love and looking to get either the black version or a Planet Ocean but cant decide on the 42mm or 45.5?? I've tried both on and the larger is certainly a heavy boy!
Wondered if people knew which was the more popular size at all?

Would you consider the SM300 at 41mm? It seems like that's a pretty popular model. I'm 6'2" and 42mm is the absolute biggest I'll let myself go (unless someone gave me a Lange terraluna), but I prefer 40mm and down. I think 45 looks ridiculous unless you're absolutely jacked. and even then...

It's your money, go where your heart tells you. Why does it matter what anybody else thinks?

The 45mm PO is a sundial that Arnie would wear, big wrists are a must for that size.

Don't worry about what other people think, if you want orange, get orange, if smaller and ligher is more comfortable, get it..... its what you want.

And hub cap size watches is likely a fad that won't last forever.

I'd say you can wear either size, so pick the one you like.

I agree with @cicindela you can pull off either watch equally well, so I would go with your personal preference entirely. My guess is 42mm is slightly more popular, only because 42mm tends to fit everyone, both small and large wrist, whereas 45.5mm tend to only work well on people who have slightly larger wrists. Popular in this case does not mean "best" or "right". My opinions only of course.

Good point repoman I want to consider re-sale value of course and its a valid point that the 42mm will fit everyone

I think the 45mm looks better. The 42mm looks fine too but it makes less of a statement.

I would say the 42 mm looks better. And I would have both sleeves at the same level...

I am considering the same option. It's a tough one. It's easier to buy a car. I read that there are more 45.5's on the market than 42's. But I would not base it on a resale option because you will almost regret you buy when you think you have that safeguard. The liquid metal is like night and day compared to stainless. Trying them on looking in the mirror helps. Flexing the wrist too helps. This is staing the obvious advice. But it's good to get opinions and as Superdoc says "What sings to you" is the most important. Good luck pm me if you have any questions.

Well had them all out today and the guy asked if I'd seen the seawater chrono..I INSTANTLY loved it as it reminds memosy fav seamaster but like its older brother! Decided on blue as its my fav colour and love it's a pair with my other one but again..the decision on size lol! They only had the 41.5m model which I loved but found out there's a 44m one too which I want to wait and try on especially as its not as big as the PO 45.5..feel really happy now though as I LOVE this model whereas I just kinda 'liked' the PO lines! Pics to follow!
