On offer's a great-looking 1960s classic chronograph powered by a Valjoux 72. I purchased this from the second owner (here in the midwest/USA); he was given the watch 8 years ago by a client of his.

CASE: 36.2mm (without unsigned crown) stainless steel case is in good, worn condition. No evidence it was polished, as the bevels are still evident on the lugs. The caseback is worn but all the etching is still visible. I assume the acrylic is original as well, and I just buffed it with a bit of Polywatch. There are still some more serious scuffs (at 11 and 3, mostly)

DIAL+HANDS: Show-stoppingly nice imo. All original; the luminescent glows only under direct UV light and doesn't react at all otherwise. Please ask any questions, but the pictures should be the best description.

MVMT: The Minerva-signed Valjoux 72 is in very good condition, from the looks of it. The caseback has markings indicating prior services, though the most recent owner hasn't ever had anything done to it, so it's overdue. The movement is fairly well finished, with Geneva-striping, and the watch keeps good time and has for several days now. The only issue at present is the chronograph: the hour hand won't reset. Given the design of the Valjoux 72, I suspect it's just a matter of the hour reset arm being out of alignment, which shouldn't be too onerous to address. The minute and second hands for the chronograph are fine, and reset correctly. The chronograph doesn't start perfectly reliably every time--maybe 50% of the time you have to press the top pusher several times. So: keeps good time, chronograph needs work.

I don't see many of these come up, though a dealer's got one currently listed at $6k, which seems ambitious. I'm happy to take offers around $4k USD (net to me); if I've overpriced, I'm happy to hear it. I live in Indiana/USA, and don't have ParcelPro, but am happy to work out best payment and shipping methods with the buyer.

That's a beauty! I remember when these were around at 1500 or so. I should have grabbed one then. Times have changed.

This sold on ebay for $3500, but since I unintentionally failed to include the strap on the watch in 2 pictures, it was rejected by the authenticators (or, more accurately: the buyer decided to back out because it lacked the ratty strap it'd come on).

Given all that, the price should clearly be lower. First $3k takes this watch. Thanks.
