    I thought I'd start a thread to vent a bit about the stupidity of some eBay sellers:

    Dear eBay sellers, please don't take 8 pictures of a watch, bracelet, and box and then say at the bottom of your description that it is head only.

    Dear eBay sellers, same goes for a bezel. Go for it, sell your DON bezel, but take it off the watch before you take pictures of it. Don't then complain that you had to cancel a sale because they didn't read your description.

    Dear eBay sellers of Ukraine, I don't want a converted pocket watch. No, no, I don't care that you "skeletonized" it. Masonic? No. Please.

    Dear eBay sellers, stop shill bidding your POS redials so they appear to be the most bidded on items (yes, I mean you, montre48Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network).

    I guess this is a start. :D

    What grinds your gears? ::popcorn::

    +1 on what you said about the shill bidding!!

    It is too easy to see who is your "alter ego". Also don't list the same item again with the same photos after it "sold" the first time.

    Dear EBay seller
    Be very happy about the money you just raked in from your recent watch sale.
    But please, please, please, don’t cause an unwarranted price hike in said watches by applying the term ‘tropical’ to Constellation dials.

    Dear eBay schmucks,

    Stop calling garden variety vintage watches (aka Seamaster DeVilles, Longines Admirals, etc.) "RARE" just because they're old.

    Learn the real meaning of NOS / New Old Stock. It is NOT interchangeable with excellent condition.

    While were on adjectives, "MINTY" describes toothpaste, not a watch.

    Lastly, stop writing "NO RESERVE!!!" when you have a minimum bid that's near, or above, market price!

    ::rant: ::censored::

    Sincerely,
    ulackfocus

    Searching for “vintage watch” gives around 170k hits.
    Searching for “rare vintage watch” gives around 13k hits.

    So almost one in ten old watches are rare.

    For truly rare watches you need to use the search term “scarce”. This is used by idiot sellers who actually think a watch might be rare, but they use “rare” to describe everything else so they need an alternative term.

    I've noticed recently the term "like NOS" is getting a lot of usage now. ::facepalm1::

    Disagree, my best eBay buys have been from terrible pictures.

    Don't call it a "MILITARY" watch just because you've had the dial refinished to look vaguely like a real one.

    I've asked several eBay sellers what "minty" means. Nobody responded.

    My main gripe is keyword stuffing. Here's an actual listing title from a year ago or so: "BMW R1200 motorcycle triumph bonneville harley sportster ducati."

    That's called key word sapmming. It's actually against eBay rules to do it.

    Dear eBay sellers, stop using only packing peanuts..... Well, at least that aggravates me when I get a nice vintage piece of electronics and it made it's journey bouncing around in the box. Many a time busting part way out.

    In a similar vein, ebay sellers who say, "One of a kind, I haven't been able to find any like it."

    Yeah... it's a redial buddy.
