Morning all,

Have been on the look out for a nice 68 145.022 for a while but I find it incredibly hard to find decent ones, in particular here in Europe.

Am checking at least 5 watch related message boards on a more or less daily basis; am trawling through Ebay and C24 at least weekly and check the known vintage dealer websites on a regular basis.

After 18 months of searching in vain I'm about to give up and get a 69 or 71 145.022 instead, or am I missing something? Is there a secret 68 buyers club that I'm not aware of? Please enlighten me fellas 馃槈

May I ask if there's any particular reason you're after a 68? Applied logo? Don bezel? 861? The fact that it's transitional?

Despite the user name, I鈥檇 prefer the 861 movement ( re serviceability) over the 321.

Step dial is a must and I love the applied logo.

Too much hassle with customs etc ... plus I鈥檓 a big fan of - now - mask2mask deals

I agree with your choice of the 68 Transitional Speedy.

I have one and I think it is special, being a one-year only design, combining the applied logo, don bezel, 861 movement, and flat link bracelet.
Not sure how long they made them, my abstract says it was made in July 1969.
Lots of interesting details to the watch such as the crown, the chronograph seconds hand, the stepped dial, the chrono pushers, etc.

Good luck with your search.

@GIGI321 One was just listed on eBay (no affiliation with the seller or watch).
Has some issues, but looks like an overall OK example.
Keep in mind that you'll need to invest a few more thousands if you care about a DON bezel.

P.S.
If you are looking for something more than just "OK Example", expect to pay double...

A few weeks ago I made an agreement with a private seller to buy a 68 from a family estate. It was going to be a ten hour road trip for a face-to-face purchase. I got the cash sorted, got my son all excited as he鈥檇 have come and enjoys such things, and then at the 11th hour the seller said that he鈥檇 changed his mind. I鈥檇 even made the sandwiches 馃が

68 is a transition speedy from 321 to 861, unless it is your birthyear. i hope im correct. so 68 speedies is the 1st batch of 861.
