So I have the possibility of a NOS 2004 Daytona white dial, completely unworn and stickers still in place.

It has 'thin hands' which was for 3 years or so then the fat hands appeared, what's people's preference, thin or fat hands?

I prefer the thin hands. But truth be told, I definitely prefer the zenith 4030 calibre configuration of the dial much more than the current design.

Fat hands make it slightly less unreadable. 😉

I had both. The classic thin hands for me. More reminiscent of the Zenith Daytona which I also prefer.

Cheers,

I like the thin hands on mine, my brother's got the thick hands on his black dial and I think its not quite as in keeping with the thin sundial hands and chrono hand.

You'll be fine with either really. Mine has thick hands and under some light it's still hard to read. Still love it

The hands make no difference to me. I just hate the non black bezels. Personal thing.

The legibility of the Daytona really does suck quite a lot, its not until you've owned one a while that you realise just what a stroke of design genius the Speedmaster Pro is and why NASA and racing drivers alike must have valued its stark matte black dial with white stick hands so much.

do you really need to be a genius to put white hands on a black dial for legibility? 😕

Given the rarity of it, yes it would definitely seem so. The Daytona isn't even that bad by modern chronograph standards, the number of watches that run silver hands on silver dial is surprisingly high. Then there's Brietling's Navitimers.

Pretty clear to pick up the time at a quick glance. Now if you ask me something other then the time I have no clue 😕

I think the Navi is amazing... so much in there and easy to use once you know how the slide rule works. I think the genius of the Navi is that it sticks so much in and is still instantly readable for time.

Congrats, look forward to hopefully seeing it in the flesh sometime soon.
