Daytona change from Oysterflex to bracelet

Hi,
Love the look of the white gold Daytona with grey dial and black ceramic bezel but don‘t want the Oysterflex coming with it. Does anybody know if the case will take the standard white gold Oyster bracelet instead? Dealer says no but somehow can’t imagine Rolex cutting two different cases.
Thanks,
Florian

Your dealer is correct. Daytonas were made not to be able to attach different straps/bracelets than what they originally come on. I have glanced at a couple threads on TRF where owners where able to circumvent this but I'm not certain exactly how and I don't think it's very easy.

For some unknown reason the bracelet lug holes and rubber versions lug hole are different.

It’s true slightly different cases. I personally fail to see any benefits.

Thanks for the feedback, why are they doing that? Guess I need to revise my next buy then. Pity, really like the dial and bezel.

Me too ... given the price of a steel one, a few times I’ve thought about getting the white gold one, which I think looks nicer anyway. May be I need to try the rubber strap anyway, see what it’s like in the rubber 😵‍💫 ... or may be it could look OK on a leather strap? Annoying though ...

It actually looks good on the rubber and is apparently a nice wear but I prefer bracelets if only to balance the watch head.

It's more than a minor lug hole difference on the OysterFlex model... the endlink is part of the case and cannot be separated.

I think that’s right. I’ve seen the threads on TRF and they seem to be mainly where owners of the steel one manage to get end links and an oysterflex rather than someone being able to modify the gold version.

It looks good on the rubber, but I could only have it as part of a collection. If I’m paying £20k+ for a watch I’d like the ability to either switch the look or have a bracelet on it.

Everest makes 2 not compatible rubber straps, one for each. It’s more then the end links.
