·Hello, all:
Well, I know I said "no more watch hunting in 2021," but that all changed once I had to send my recently acquired Speedy into the shop for service. Left without a watch on the wrist, I resumed the old, nasty habit: cruising Forms, Ebay, and any other black hole of the internet for that reasonably priced 16014 I've been after. This is a terrible habit, I know. (That, however is a conversation for another place.)
Anyway! I finally happened upon the following piece. I know the crystal is a bit rough, but I find the price reasonable, and I truly love the way the bezel plays with the light. The hands are not the best, admittedly, but for some reason, I find the matching patina of the hands and dial's lume to be just so nice. All in all, I love this watch. I am wondering, though, about the dial. I've seen so many DJs with the word "DATEJUST" in font much bigger than this piece. In fact, this watch's font seems quite scaled down comparatively (this, though, I find charming.) I wonder, though: Is this an issue? I really haven't been able to find a definitive answer, so here I am! What are your thoughts?
