    Hi all,
New on this forum but a proud owner of a omega seamaster with the date at the bottom (six position).
The seems to be quite rare.
Does anybody know more about this type of watch

Owned 3 or 4 myself. Not rare, but cool - especially the waffle dials.

    Should be a 2757 or 2627 with a Cal. 353/355. 1950s as well.

Dont forget to mention that the square date window was on the first models (1952 to early 1953) and then the window changed to that trapezoidal shape for the rest of the models' lifespan..... which might have been to 1955?

Back in the early 50s Omega's flagship was the Constellation, all chromometers and initially at least all bumper automatics. The Seamasters were (mostly) non-chronometers in slightly more sporty/casual chunkier cases rather than the more elegant and elaborate cases in the Constellations. The bumpers were made in non-date versions (used in the Constellation) and date versions (Cal 353/355) which were used in the date version Seamasters, the date versions were never made as chronometers, and as such there are no bumper Constellations with date, only Seamasters.

As it was the only automatic with date Omega had at the time Omega did make quite a few of these date at six Seamasters until they released the Cal 503/504 with date in a full rotor automatic in the mid 50s.

I posted a picture of my cal. 355 without a case, earlier in this thread. Here it is with a NOS steel case. The movement came to me without a case which, I suspect was yellow in colour. Gold filled, karat gold? Dunno. This watch was in pieces in a box for over 40 years when I discovered it. Glad to have it complete, running, and able to enjoy it. image.jpg

The Seamaster I uploaded above is not a chronometer, for sure. It is equipped with a micrometer regulator which is a good feature. After fussing with the regulator curb pin to return it to specs, and regulating it on my Vibrograph, it is + 5 seconds in the past 24-hours. Not bad for a 60-year-old non-chronometer. I'll get it closer than that!
