Morning all,

Just picked up a DSOTM and am looking to smarten it up with a black alligator strap. Has anybody got any pictures they could post so I can see what it looks like. Thanks in advance.

If you look up photos of the omega lunar dust, you can pretty well visualize what the Darkside will look like on black alligator.

 

DLT any chance you could post a picture? Saw the Lunar Grey that's what gave me the idea for the DS

Thanks for the pictures and great mock up M84. Looks great on an alligator strap. Thinking deployment clasp instead of buckle. Any of you from England? If so who do you get your OEM straps from? Don't want to have to pay full RRP if I can help it.

Hahahaha! Thanks guys, but no, not a wizard unfortunately! This was quite simple and just a by-product of my day job. Plus, in this case, it serves as a good visualization tool and keeps me entertained!

Wow the white stitch looks interesting. Is their an OEM strap like that? When I pick up my PO from service I will see if they have a leather strap to try on mine.

 

Just received a response from Omega UK with regards an OEM Alligator strap to suit the DS. Excerpt of their response below

"Thank you for your email regarding your OMEGA timepiece.

I have noted your comments and can confirm that there is not a black alligator strap with deployment buckle available for the OMEGA Dark Side of the Moon."

I was under the impression that the DS was a standard Speedmaster but ceramic case instead of St St. Am I correct in my thinking?

 

You are correct sir!

The response is an 'official one' - there is no leather strap made for the DSOM - so you will not see that variable in the catalogue the way you see the PO on leather then Rubber then Bracelet...
There is also no Ceramic deployment clasp (but they are working on it...)

However, any integrated leather - such as that from the Speedmaster 9300, will fit quite easily...

I'm trying to decide whether its worth trying to get a Steel deployment clasp PVD'd...

 

Does the integrated leather band fit the DSOM? The lunar dust strap seems like a regular straight one, so I was wondering if there was a reason they did not use the curved one. Trying to decide if I should buy a curved one or a straight one. Is there a 21mm rubber one?
