I was at the AD today and an 8 was in the display. Fascinating and I’d like to like it but the hands blend too much into the dial. In real life it seems too confusing

Are the Apollo 8's getting harder to find? Not sure why we don't see more posts on this. It is such a fantastic watch

Pricing is an issue, they aren't cheap. A lot of people are still in the mode that a Speedmaster shouldn't be more than $4,500 or so.

I tried one on at the weekend at my local AD, was immediately offered 10% discount, but that is still £7k which is a little more than I'm willing to pay.

I am impressed with the details though, something a little different.

There has been one sitting in my ADs counter for some time. I really would like to "like" it as it really is beautiful. Just so dang hard to read the time

You keep telling us. Either buy it or don’t.

FWIW, you can’t tell in the boutique. I have one in real life and have never have an issue telling the time.

You should try it. It’s terrific.

^^^ This. Deciding whether a watch is easily readable or not is very hard to do under the harsh glare of a dealer's store lights. Too bright, too many points of light, too many reflections. I don't find the Apollo 8 hard to read at all, no more difficult than any other watch I own. See if the boutique will walk out with you into natural light to gauge the readability, even if they have to wear the watch you will quickly determine if it will work for you.

Honestly, it’s no harder than any of my other watches in normal light.

The CK2998 is more difficult.....

Picked up the new yellow/black Nato at the OB yesterday. When I first saw it on Instagram, I knew it was the perfect pair!

Good day everyone! Little bit of a forum creeper and havent really posted much. Oddly enough, I never actually had any interest in this model(as I have my Moonwatch and SpeedTuesday1 edition that were my grails) until halfway through COVID they brought it out of my local AD's vault.

Gave it a think and they called me back and gave me a fantastic deal on it, didnt pass and glad to say I didnt.

The lume on this sucker is fantastic and bright, that it usually illuminates my pathway in my garage with a quick boost from my LED headlamps on the car.

Easily readable
Took me a while in that pic. Thought you might be kidding. Beautiful watch but definitely too busy for me
