Damaged dial to be preserved as is

I recently bought for approx 375 US$ here in Saigon Vietnam a ref 2846 gold capped cal 501 with 15m serial. Condition is average with bezel facet still present. But one should say ‘dial damaged beyond repair’ since wordings on it is long gone. Anyway I Iove this stardust look and would want to preserve this dial as is. The problem is that on that dial there is noticeable spot of copper oxidation. Please tell me if I have to get it removed by skilled watchmaker or I need to live with it knowing that in the future I must have that dial repainted.

Given the overall condition of that dial, I don't feel that the little green spot is really jumping out at me. I think that if you cleaned that part of the dial, the clean area would be more noticeable than the spot.

Thank you for prompt reply. Sorry English is not not my native language. I would want to know if that copper oxidation spot gets bigger in the future to the point it would damage further...

OP, I get your dilemma, the uniform stardust patina is perfect but that spot kinda eats at u and festers... hence we are collectors. IMO I would get let a legit, tried and tested dial restorer assess and discuss the options.

Definitely it must be discussed with watchmaker (dial feet inspection, dial repair as suggested by @mzzleather ...) Thank you all

"stardust look" (sic). In real life, esp. in tropical sun it reflects light in that way
