    Any chance that this dial can be cleaned instead of “restored”? I sadly assume that since the color of the stains changes with the angle of light, it’s probably not just dirt. With that said, the watch seems pretty dirty regardless of the dial’s condition. Your expert opinions are much appreciated!

    fingerprints. Might be cleanable.

    Fingerprints might have etched into the lacquer hence it changes with lighting. Might not be cleanable.

    Probably not without some loss of detail to the dial. My Longines has similar marks and both myself and the watchmaker opted not to take that risk.

    There is also the possibility that it has been cleaned, & this is as good as it gets.

    Looks like the lacquer is damaged... Probably hard to fix.
