daily hand cleaning bad?

Covid has recently put me into the habit of giving my watches a hand wash with some dish soap after use. but it also made me aware of the general gunk that can build up on a watch even just after a few days.

so as mentioned i usually give the watch a hand wash with dish soap at the end of the day (if i am not going to use the same watch the next day, as i have quite a large rotation)

i know this will keep the steel shiny and nasty stuff free. but im guessing its gonna do a number on the seals and WR?

correct me if i am wrong thanks

and to note also, i always use cold water only

Dry clean the watch head when necessary, using tooth pick, ear buds, soft dry cloth.
Steel bracelet in warm soapy water, using a tooth brush to get in through the links then, blow it dry.

That's what I would do but I dry clean the watch head daily using a proper watch cloth.

I swim with a watch nearly everyday of the year. Salt water pool.

Always soak a diver in fresh water after swimming in ocean or diving.

Divers watches get seals changed every two years.
