    Hi all
People often talk about the hassle of sending stuff overseas and the extra forms. What do you have to do?

In Australia, the international post form

The only extra info needed for this, as opposed to domestic, is what it is, value and origin. Takes an extra 30 seconds. This is the same regardless of where I am sending.

Do other senders have more forms, hassle, paperwork?

Just shipped some things to my daughter in Spain from the US. No big deal, describe the contents and value.

Last month I shipped a wedding gift to one of my colleagues in Belgium via the United States Postal Service. It was a tiny little form just as arksstfan said. What it was (wedding gift) and value.

It was a Josh Simpson megaplanet. I love giving those as symbolic wedding gifts and nobody's complained yet.

the issue is not the form, but that you can't insure the darned thing past $500.

Wouldn't third party insurance work? Or will they just not accept an item with higher value?

haven't found third party insurance available to the private shipper. In fact, would appreciate a lead here.

Parcel pro will do it. At first I strayed from them because I thought they only catered to businesses. Not the case, I signed up and have shipped/insured a watch already, hassle-free.

I think here we can insure up to several thousand, I know my Seamaster Pro I shipped to Ireland was insured for $2,700 or something. Not cheap at all mind you, I have no doubt whatever the underwriter's rate is Auspost are probably quadrupling.

Going to start flying to pic stuff up over a certain price soon. Have a holiday at the same time. Lucky i have 4 months long service leave stored up....

+1 on ParcelPro. The online signup looks like it's only for businesses but if you give them a call they're very easy to work with.
