I'm extremely pleased with my new strap. Gunny always comes through!

Great strap... will you do anything to protect the engraved case back from wear on the leather ?

Gunny's leather is typically very soft. I don't know that you'll need anything to protect your case back from this leather. Now if the strap was a nato made of nylon it would be a different story.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

the strap is like butter. I just cut a circle out of an adhesive label and put it over the engraves. Seemed like it would do the trick.

You should be right in theory, but better to be safe than sorry. All my issued watches are protected on the case back with a clear adhesive sticker. As you say, this really is a must with nylon natos (take a look at pretty much any RAF Seiko to see what an abrasive strap will do).

I guess with leather that it wouldn't be the strap itself that caused wear, but the gap between the strap and the case back might get dirty over time and that dirt may be abrasive.

That's a good looking example of a WWW Omega!
