I really started liking the cushion type cases on the older Camaros and such. For those of you with lots of experience, If I were to seek out a great watch with cushion case to wear regularly, so not a safe queen, where would you direct me to start looking? Camaro, Zenith, etc? model? Not too old, or over the top $, as I want to wear it. use some impressions or pics please to get me pointed.

I've noted that there are quite a few attractive Magrette watches.

This is a beauty to my eye:

Though it won't be to everyone's taste.

Alas, none smaller than 42mm as far as I have found and most have a case thickness a bit over 15mm.

Not an issue for those with beefy wrists.

If a broader interpretation of your “not too old” is ok would you consider the Omega Memomatic line (pic 166.072) in it’s several variations ?

Great looking timepieces at acceptable market level and cushion at its historic height

So are we defining cushion case as essentially square with rounded off corners? Because I’ve also seen people referring to more C-shaped cases as cushion, particularly when they don’t have a very long lug-to-lug in relation to their diameter. Or is this more tonneau? Case in point:

Here are a few of mine vintage has the most interesting cushion cases I think.

The Seiko 6105

The Czech issued Longines

This is sort of a cushion case the Eterna issued IFD diver. Out of the three I posted the Seiko 6105 has the most distinct and most interesting due to how different it is from most cushion case designs the way the crown goes flush to the case.

I find that the short, downward curved lugs help to make it comfortably wearable even if you don't have gorilla wrists 😁

That Majetek is sweet. I've been chasing a 6105/Apocalypse Now watch for a while but can't seem to find any in good condition.

I got mine back in the day you could get a fixer upper for 300 or less. after market 6105 crystal can be had on ebay only after market part I would use. Get one were the metal of the hands are in great shape if the lume is shot there some good relumers out there. I replaced the crystal had it serviced the hands were a mess the lume so dark so had Jack at IWW relume the dial and hands to match he is sort of out of business now just glad I had him do it when he was in his prime years ago. Got less than 500 in it. They can still be done on the cheap with a fixer upper. Some frown on relume but some vintage that look ugly with out it improves it the original crystal was shot were you could not see the time very good take a chance with a fixer upper will save you a few bucks just make sure the movement runs the crown lock works and it hacks if I remember there was one model that did not hack a older version and the original bezel ring in fair shape a fixer upper the way to go.

So what is your wrist size? ;-)

My wrist is 6 7/8" (17.4 cm.)

I've contacted Magrette asking for info on case thickness. It seems nearly all their cases are cushion-type.

I’ve noticed cushions tend to wear smaller for some reason. I think it’s due to the proportionally shorter lug to lug distance. I thought the PAM CA dial at 47mm would wear huge. Granted it’s not a thick watch like a Monaco.

But looked great on my 7.25/.5 wrist

I oh so wanted to look cool with a Panerai Luminor and tried a bunch on at Tourneau NYC but at 7.25 inch wrist, they looked like a clock on me.
