Current generation Aqua Terra blue dial vs. Skyfall blue dial

I own a current generation blue dial Aqua Terra (the 38mm version).

I've recently been looking at photos of the blue dial "Skyfall" Aqua Terra (the one with the vertical teak-like stripes) and was wondering if the color blue is the same for both watches. It may just be the lighting of the photos I've looked at, but it appears the Skyfall version is more blue and the current version shades closer to black. But again, it might just be the photos I've looked at.

Has anyone here owned both and have an opinion?

I have not owned both, but I own the Skyfall model and have seen the current one. I do think there is a subtle difference in dial texture that changes how it looks. The Skyfall looks 'wetter' in the reflections to me, at least in the admittedly limited lighting situations I have viewed it in.

Just thinking out loud but could this be anything to do with the finishing of the dial? So not the colour per se but the way that the different vertical and horizontal teaking reflect light? Truth time though: I know the Skyfall dial well being lucky enough to own one and having just looked at the current dial in Omega released stock images there is a silvering to the top of the teak planking so.... I give up. Maybe there is a difference.

That could be. I think the lines on the vertical pattern appear wider. The horizontal pattern has two thinner lines in between each wider line. So perhaps there's less light to reflect around even if the actual color of the dial is the same. More light on this dial = a bluer look. Less light = darker look.

I'm really tempted to get a Skyfall to compare to my 2021 version and choose the one that looks better to my eye.

I own the current AT 41mm in blue and have handled the Skyfall at AD -- from memory I think that the colour is similar, perhaps Skyfall is a touch darker, but the horizontal teak "decking" may allow for more play of light across the surface than the more solid-surface Skyfall.

Both dials are stunning, and the newer models are incredibly dynamic, moving from deep black-blue to a shimmery sea-blue with green tones and a bright freshwater blue in direct sun -- and then you shift your wrist, and it's all new again. Really striking and hugely engrossing with the domed crystal, like a miniature city.

Having worked hard this morning I thought a little wrist treat was in order: here's my Skyfall at varying angles.
