I inherited this Omega from my late father and am curious as to it’s age and type (betond the fact that it is an Omega Seamaster 600). The documents that came with it are not specific and are general to all Omega watches of the time. The only time factor that may be indicative is the original selling price if that is of any help. The watch has never been dissassembled or opened and I wish to keep it that way for now. Any suggestions?

These models were made/sold in the 1960s.

It looks in very good condition, I will not wear until is serviced. An independent watchmaker is the recommended alternative.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Your watchmaker will be able to disassemble the watch during its service. You can use the serial number engraved on the movement and a lookup table (versions found on the interwebs) to roughly date the production of your watch, also shown here in a catalog page from 1965:

Thanks, I agree regarding the spiedel style strap, I have never been one for the wrist-hair-removal metal straps, any recommendations for a high quality leather strap source?
